In a vote of 2-1 the county commissioners will place a 1/2 cent sales tax issue on the November ballot. The proposed tax will be for only one year.

Cheryl Rae (Reynolds) Bunch departed her earthly home on Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO from failing health. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 30 at the Atkinson Funeral Home of Adrian.

A possible serial killer has been living in the peaceful rural community of the Homeland Edition in Southfork just northeast of Drexel for the past several years. Without the spontaneous confession from him on Friday night, no one may have ever known anything about the crimes.

In a trip to the west side of the state last week, Missouri Governor Matt Blunt made a stop in Butler last Wednesday. The governor gathered with a group at the Inn Building and spoke on the economic inpact some of his programs are making in the Show Me state.
