Skelton discusses trip to Afghanistan and Iraq
Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO), the Ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, recently returned from a Congressional fact-finding trip to Afghanistan and Iraq, with stops in Qatar, Kuwait and Germany.
Sights and Sounds of Christmas
The Adrian R-3 elementary Christmas program was held Tuesday evening, December 20, in the east gymnasium. The program was under the direction of Mrs. Pat Arnold and Mr. Adam Twenter.
Lady Blackhawks fall to El Dorado
The Adrian girls basketball game lost a close contest to El Dorado Springs last Tuesday night. Despite shooting no free throws, the Blackhawks fell just 56-52. From the line, the Bulldogs outscored Adrian 16-0.

Still no agreement reached between City and District 5
A special city council meeting was held Saturday, December 17, 2005 to discuss a water contract. Work on an agreement acceptable to both sides has been ongoing for several months, but to date, no agreement between the two parties has been reached.
2005 Courtwarming Queen
The Adrian Blackhawks celebrated Courtwarming last Friday night when they hosted the Sherwood Marksmen. Senior Heather Newsome was crowned the 2005 Queen. She was escorted by Matt Eidson.
Lady Blackhawks fall to Lamar and Sherwood
The Adrian Lady Blackhawks traveled to lamar last Tuesday night to face the Lady Tigers. Adrian lost the game 62-45. Sherwood came to town for Adrian's Courtwarming and the Lady Blackhawks lost in overtime, 55-51.
Blackhawks win one and lose one
Tuesday night the Blackhawk boys basketball team hosted the Hogan Prep Rams. After a good start, the Blackhawks fell behind, losing 61-79. The Blackhawks did come out ahead Friday night, beating Sherwood 71-61.
Wrestling come up short in duel at Butler
The Blackhawk wrestlers traveled to Butler last Thursday night. Justin Hough, Wesley McDonald and Matthew Eidson won their matches, but the final team scores were Butler: 42, Adrian: 36.

Blackhawks lose to Butler Bears
The Adrian Blackhawk basketball team played host to the Butler Bears last Tuesday night and lost to the bears 56-45. The loss dropped the Blackhawks' overall record to 2-3.
Lady Blackhawks fall to Butler
The Adrian Lady Blackhawks stepped up a class last Tuesday night by hosting the Butler Lady Bears. Butler won the contest 40-35.

The Lady Blackhawks met the Lady Bobcats of Drexel in the third place game of the WEMO Conference basketball tournament last week. Drexel came out ahead, 59-40.
