Adrian residents urged to lock vehicles and homes
Adrian Chief of Police Hershel Cole stated that there has been a recent wave of theft from motor vehicles in Adrian. The thefts involved unlocked vehicles, so Cole urges citizens to lock their car doors.
School districts earn state honors for "Distinction in Performance"
"The Distinction in Performance award is a prestigious honor for Missouri school districts. It requires districts to demonstrate outstanding achievement or consistent improvement in multiple areas. The Adrian Lady Blackhawks opened the 2005-06 basketball season last Tuesday night by defeating the visiting Ballard Lady Bulldogs 52-27. Lisa Wainwright was the leading scorer with 15 points, followed by Ashley Newkirk with 11.

Sixth Grade Quiz Bowl Team Places First
Adrian Sixth Grade Quiz Bowl Team traveled to Rich Hill on November 12 in order to compete in the annual conference Quiz Bowl. After a rather intense match, the Adrian team claimed their final victory of the day, with a score of Adrian 24, Drexel 20, receiving the first place plaque. Bus Safety Program
Bus drivers Linda Underwood and Mitch Rugg brought their buses to the Adrian R-3 school for the annual Bus Safety Program. Linda spoke to the K-6 students about bus safety and what to do in an emergency.

Conference Champs!
The Adrian Blackhawks take on the Midway Vikings in the final game of the regular football season. Adrian won the game 31-7, giving them a 8-0 record, the district championship, conference championship and a playoff spot.
Sight and Safety Night
Adrian's Main Street business district was blocked off for two hours Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to celebrate Sight and Safety Night sponsored by the Adrian Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce.

One fatality, two injured in Cass County accident
One person died and two others were injured in a three vehicle accident in Cass County Thursday, October 27, 2005. The accident occurred at 4 p.m. on Missouri Highway 2, less than a hundred feet from the intersection of Eastwood Road in southeastern Harrisonville.
