Adrian Cub Scout Pack 238 held their annual Pine Wood Derby. Spencer Kimberlin, Justin Deems and Christian Graham were the top three winners.

Archie Whirlwinds played host to Grain Valley Eagles. The Eagles won 3-1.

Adrian boys finish in the top slot at ElDorado Springs, 6th at Louisburg, and 1st at Cass Midway Relays. Girls place 6th at ElDorado, 12th at Louisburg, 9th at Cass Midway. Sophomore Chris Perkins broke the school javeline record at Louisburg.

Mrs. Mary Alice Waggener, 82, of Lee's Summit passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005

Sgt. Chapman attempted to stop a vehicle that contained a wanted person and the vehicle fled. The vehicle was finally stopped at main and Houston and the wanted felon fled on foot.

The Missouri FFA Association recognized Jeri Lynn fowler of the Adrian FFA Chapter as Area 5 Star Farmer at the 77th Missouri FFA convention. She is the daughter of Jerry and Vickie Fowler of Butler.

Charles Kruse, President of Missouri Farm Bureau, will be the guest speaker at the Adrian FFA Banquet on May 6, 2005.

Bates County received a $2,782 dividend return from the Missouri Association of Counties (MAC), a statewide local government organization headquartered in Jefferson City.

The advisability of certain improvements to be made, ordering the establishment of the main street beautification district and authorizing and approving the preparation of preliminary plans and specifications for the improvement constituting the main street beautification project.

Age 73 of Amoret, Missouri died Saturday, April 16, 2005. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 19, 2005.

Age 78 and a half years of age of Holiday, Florida, formerely of Adrian died Monday, April 4, 2005. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2005.

Age 88 of Drexel, Missouri passed away April 10, 2005. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m.

Five schools of the WEMO Conference participated in the annual art show held this past Saturday at Archie.

The Adrian Chamber of Commerce's featured business for April is the newly opened Adrian branch of the Citizens Bank.

Jim Shade, newly elected member of the Board of Directors of Bates County Memorial Hospital, was sworn in on Monday, April 11, 2005.

The 5th & 6th grade basketball teams at Ballard participated in the Calhoun Tournament the week of March 28.

The 3rd annual 4-H Bowling Tournament was held at Adrian Lanes March 28, 2005.

This week the Power Kickers, coached by Mike Costigan, played the Green Hulks.The U-8 shirts played Harrisonville on Saturday.The Tangerine Tigers kicked off their fist game of the season against the Adrian Green team on April 2.The Adrian U-10 Green team had a wonderful game on April 9th.

There has been a lot of practice without competition for the Adrian Blackhawks thinclad squads. The weather was right last Thursday when the boys and girls teams traveled to Odessa to compete against eighteen teams.

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation continue to repair the drainage on the four corners of Adrian's Main Street and Virginia.
