R-3 Board approves bid for asphalting parking lots
Motion was made by Tolle and seconded by Cooper to approve the asphalting bid for the parking lots as presented from Phillips Paving Company totaling $57,246.00.

Adrian Cub Scout Pack 238 held their annual Pine Wood Derby. Spencer Kimberlin, Justin Deems and Christian Graham were the top three winners.

Historical Society to present program on Fred Harvey, America's First Restaurateur
This free program is brought to you by the Bates County Historical Society through the Missouri Humanities Council Program Bureau with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This entertaining program will be held May 7, 10:30 a.m. at the Butler Library Community Room.

Adrian boys finish in the top slot at ElDorado Springs, 6th at Louisburg, and 1st at Cass Midway Relays. Girls place 6th at ElDorado, 12th at Louisburg, 9th at Cass Midway. Sophomore Chris Perkins broke the school javeline record at Louisburg.

Wanted felon escapes on foot
Sgt. Chapman attempted to stop a vehicle that contained a wanted person and the vehicle fled. The vehicle was finally stopped at main and Houston and the wanted felon fled on foot.
Fowler recognized as Area 5 Star Farmer
The Missouri FFA Association recognized Jeri Lynn fowler of the Adrian FFA Chapter as Area 5 Star Farmer at the 77th Missouri FFA convention. She is the daughter of Jerry and Vickie Fowler of Butler.
Kruse to be guest speaker at FFA banquet
Charles Kruse, President of Missouri Farm Bureau, will be the guest speaker at the Adrian FFA Banquet on May 6, 2005.
Bates County participates in insurance pool
Bates County received a $2,782 dividend return from the Missouri Association of Counties (MAC), a statewide local government organization headquartered in Jefferson City.
Aldermen pass ordinance for improvements on Main Street
The advisability of certain improvements to be made, ordering the establishment of the main street beautification district and authorizing and approving the preparation of preliminary plans and specifications for the improvement constituting the main street beautification project.

On Thursday, April 14 the girls track traveled to Sherwood. The Adrian girls track team participated in the Jayhawk-Linn Invitational last Tuesday, April 12.
Blackhawks do well in Kansas
The Adrian boys track team had two meets last week, one in Kansas, the other in Missouri.

Soccer News
This week the Power Kickers, coached by Mike Costigan, played the Green Hulks.The U-8 shirts played Harrisonville on Saturday.The Tangerine Tigers kicked off their fist game of the season against the Adrian Green team on April 2.The Adrian U-10 Green team had a wonderful game on April 9th.
Blackhawk thinclads finally in competition
There has been a lot of practice without competition for the Adrian Blackhawks thinclad squads. The weather was right last Thursday when the boys and girls teams traveled to Odessa to compete against eighteen teams.
Repairs Continue
